What If You Could Change the World?

Start in your community. A graduate program in sustainability could be the spark.

Bard Graduate Programs in Sustainability

We can forego plastic straws, run our laundry in cold water, and stop idling in our cars, but it will never be enough to stop climate change. To make a true impact on climate change, we have to do more

Bard's Graduate Programs in Sustainability tap into the root issues. We develop business leaders who fundamentally change the way businesses operate. We empower educators to lead the next generation into a greener future. We ensure climate activists are equipped with tools in their arsenal to wield against the deniers.

We are changing the rules, changing the game, and changing minds

Join us! Let's connect and move forward with our shared goal.

Let's talk about your sustainability career.

  • Our individualized approach to career planning, deep alumni network, and focus on experiential learning is like putting your career on the fast track to impact.
  •  While in the programs,  all students go through a mentored job search, develop deep subject-matter expertise, and build strong professional networks.
  •  For the MS and M.Ed. degrees in particular, students are required to do a 4-6 month professional internship. That experience pays off (literally), as 30-50% of the professional internships turn directly into full-time jobs.

Admissions Overview

  • Bard’s Graduate Programs in Sustainability enroll motivated students who want to change the world, whether they are just graduating college or have been in the workforce for 30+ years. Our students come from all academic and professional backgrounds; from dancers to scientists to finance professionals to climate activists.
  •  We welcome applications from diverse candidates—representing all races, religions, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identifications, abilities, socioeconomic statuses, and political affiliations. We believe that everyone needs to be part of creating a sustainable future and look forward to reviewing your application.
  •  Scholarships available, no GRE/GMAT required, and official transcripts are not required for the application process. You can find more information about the application process here.
