Bard GPS Alumni Giving Campaign

Bard GPS Scholarships

Since 2001, Bard GPS has provided more than $4 million in fellowship and scholarship funding to aspiring change makers, largely funded through internal resources. As tuition-dependent programs, Bard GPS has a limited ability to increase per-student scholarship funding. As part of our JEDI + Anti-Racism Roadmap/Commitment, Bard GPS has committed to acquiring resources to support scholarship funding and internship support for students from historically excluded populations.

Join us in supporting these students as we launch our Bard GPS Alumni Giving Campaign at the 20th/10th Anniversary Reunion. The money raised will support the following two funds:

  • GPS Opportunity Scholars Program - In 2019, Bard GPS launched the Opportunity Scholars program. This scholarship program provides 40-90% scholarships to first-generation college students as well as students from historically excluded populations. To date, 19 students have received funding through this program. Alumni gifts will enable the expansion of the Opportunity Scholars program.
  • CEP Internship Fund - Bard CEP students are required to complete 4-6 month professional internship. These internships have been foundational in launching the high impact careers our MS and MEd alumni. Many internships are unpaid; for students with limited financial resources, some may be unable to take their preferred internship if it is unpaid. The continued presence of unpaid internships perpetuates inequitable career opportunities based on socioeconomic status. In 2022, Bard CEP launched the CEP Internship fund to offer $4,000-$6,000 stipends to support students pursuing unpaid or underpaid internships. Current CEP is able to support 3-4 students; alumni gifts will expand the number of students able to pursue their dream internship.

GPS Reunion Giving Opportunities

  • Tickets: All proceeds from Soirée tickets priced above $50 will go to the alum's choice of either the GPS Opportunity Scholarship or CEP Internship Fund.
  • Silent Auction: There will be a silent auction during the Soirée. All funds raised will go to the winning bidder's choice of scholarship funds. **Please consider donating to the silent auction - we are looking for material goods, gift certificates, services, and experiences! Email bard2023reunionweekend@gmail.com if you can donate something!

Frequently Asked Questions

What classes and cohorts will be honored?

This reunion will celebrate all Bard GPS graduate years!

How can I register for the Reunion Weekend?

I will be traveling from out of town, what are my options for hotels/lodging?

We have reserved two hotel blocks (50 rooms total) to help make your travel plans a bit easier! Please see the  "Accommodations" section above for direct links to the discounted hotel options. If you are local and have a spare room/couch to share for a fellow alum or if you are looking for this option, please email us at bard2023reunionweekend@gmail.com.

What does the Soirée ticket cover?

The Saturday Soirée ticket price covers appetizers, dinner, dessert, drinks and a special alumni gift!

What should I wear?

For the Saturday evening Soirée, cocktail attire is encouraged! All other events will be fairly casual, but of course Bard swag is always in style!

I have dietary restrictions, can special arrangements be made?

The Soirée RSVP will ask for dietary restrictions and have room for you to provide specific concerns. We do plan to have a variety of food and drinks to meet a range of dietary preferences. If you have any concerns please reach out to us at bard2023reunionweekend@gmail.com

Can my significant other or family join me?

Due to capacity constraints, the Saturday evening Soirée is exclusively for GPS graduates. Our daytime events on Saturday and Sunday are open to all friends and family of the GPS community. All those above the age of 21 are welcome to the Friday Welcome Reception and Saturday afterparty.

I’m only planning on coming to events that aren’t the Soirée, do I still need to pay the ticket price?

No, all other events throughout the weekend other than the Soirée will be free of charge to attend. (Please note that you will need to pay for any food/drinks you want at the Welcome Reception or Afterparty.)

I unfortunately cannot attend reunion this year! Can I still make a gift to support one of the GPS fund programs?

Absolutely, and thank you SO much for your support! Please use the RSVP form to make your donation - you can update your contact information and make your gift all in one place! Just select "No" to the first question and you'll be able to make your donation after that. Thank you!
